A record number of passengers travelled through Norfolk airport last month

In July, 514,113 passengers flew through Norfolk, a 4.8% increase from 490,460 people in July 2024, according to statistics provided Tuesday by the airport. Around 2.8 million people have used the airport this year through the end of July, which is a 0.9% increase from about 2.7 people from the same time period in 2024. American Airlines had the best month, with 136,592 passengers using the airline in July. Delta Airlines experienced the largest year-over-year percentage growth for July, increasing 17.3%, or from 113,926 to 133,652 passengers. Airport spokesperson Chris Jones said the record-setting numbers weren't a surprise for airport leaders, since the airport also posted record numbers in June, when 496,258 passengers used the airport.
